Founded in 2016, The Beauty Hub Academy was born from a powerful desire to make the hair and beauty industry more accessible to young South Africans particularly those from disadvantaged communities. What started as a vision by founders Joel Manqoba Nkomo and Daisy Vuyelwa Gama has grown into a nationally recognized institution shaping skilled professionals through excellence in accredited education. With branches in Johannesburg, Tshwane, Carletonville and Lenasia, the academy has trained over 1,400 students across hairdressing and beauty therapy programs, through partnerships with the Department of Social Development, Services SETA, QCTO, and ITEC.

Founding Director & Academy Principal
Joel Nkomo founded Beauty Hub Academy to create a world-class space for skills development in the beauty and wellness industry. As Principal, Joel leads the Academy’s strategic direction, curriculum design, and student success initiatives with a hands-on approach that combines industry expertise and educational excellence.
Daisy Vuyi Gama
Co-Founder & Director of Finance
Daisy Gama brings sharp financial acumen and strong leadership to her role as Director of Finance. As co-founder, she has been instrumental in building the Academy’s operational foundations and ensuring its sustainability.
Tawanda Mandla Macheza
Financial Administrator
Tawanda Macheza plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and efficiency of Beauty Hub Academy. He oversees daily financial operations, student account management, and internal reporting. Mandla supports both the executive team and students by ensuring smooth processing of tuition payments, accurate record-keeping, and financial transparency. His commitment to operational excellence helps ensure that the Academy runs seamlessly behind the scenes.
